One year into Bloom by Maria Bella, the philosophical foundation of the brand is becoming more visible.
Bloom by Maria Bella turns one today. 💜
On August 11, 2025, I made Bloom official.
One year in and I’m clearer than ever about what I believe:
Beauty as Self-Care and Self-Respect
Beauty should be an act of self-care and self-respect.
Too often, the beauty industry markets self-doubt, insecurity, and the constant need to fix yourself.
It teaches us to examine ourselves for flaws. To treat changing skin, aging bodies, texture, redness, sensitivity, and ordinary human variation as problems waiting for correction.
Bloom exists to offer another way.
Sensitive skin without shame.
Beauty rituals that adapt when the body changes.
Care that meets you at your actual capacity.
Soft living that doesn’t require pretending life is always aesthetic.
Beauty that builds self-trust instead of teaching you to doubt yourself.
Over this first year, that philosophy has become clearer.
And as Bloom’s philosophy has become more visible, I’ve become more willing to share my own point of view as well.
Bloom in Motion has become one place where that philosophy lives in practice—where beauty rituals, body awareness, soft living, and the stories of becoming are allowed to exist together.
The Courage to Be Seen
That feels especially fitting this August.
Our monthly theme is The Courage to Be Seen—reclaiming our inner fire, trusting our voices, taking up space, and standing behind what we believe.
Visibility is not only about being looked at.
Sometimes it means standing up for what you believe and being seen in the process.
It means putting language around your values instead of keeping them safely implied.
It means letting your work carry your fingerprints.
It means trusting yourself enough to say: this is what I boldly believe in.
For Bloom, year one was about building.
Year two begins with standing fully behind what I’ve built.
The Inner Fire Was Always Ours
That same philosophy is the base of my new Leo Season essay, Seeing Potential in Everyone but Yourself.
The essay asks what happens when we keep giving our belief, vision, discipline, courage, and inner fire away—pouring them into other people’s potential while using their circumstances as evidence against our own becoming.
At some point, self-trust asks us to stop looking sideways.
To stop outsourcing our fire.
To step out of the shadows.
To trust the ground beneath our own feet.
And to step into our own light.
That is as true in beauty as it is anywhere else.
Self-respect asks us to stop treating ourselves like projects that are never finished.
Self-trust asks us to recognize when care becomes correction, when aspiration becomes comparison, and when admiration begins pulling us away from our own lives.
The inner fire was always ours. Now we learn to carry it.
